In 2019, GIHD expanded its partnership basis and engaged in challenging new initiatives. When Kerala, India faced one of its worst floods in 2018, we felt that it is our responsibility to respond by contributing as much as we can. To this effect, we approached several local donors with specific proposals to respond.

In January 2017, a few like-minded people came together to form an organization with a vision to enable positive health and development outcomes by helping people in need to help themselves.
After deliberations, the Organization was formulated in April and was registered under the article
60 of the Swiss civil code.
