Dr Constanza VALLENAS has recently retired from the World Health Organization (WHO), where she worked for almost 20 years as a Public Health Medical Officer. At WHO, she has worked on technical areas, including breastfeeding protection, promotion and support, and on infection prevention and control. She has provided technical support to several countries in 6 regions of WHO.
Dr Vallenas is a Peruvian-Swiss paediatrician. She studied general Medicine and Paediatrics in Cayetano Heredia University (Lima, Peru) and obtained Masters degrees from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, on Clinical Tropical Medicine (1985) and in Epidemiology (2009).
